* INCARNADINE: The True Memoirs of Count Dracula by R. H. Greene
- A book about Count Dracula that does NOT derive from Vlad Tepes!
- “Stoker's own notes prove convincingly that he knew nothing about Vlad's sadistic rule. He didn't even know that the 'Dracula' whose patronym he borrowed was named 'Vlad.' He believed 'Dracula' was a generic term meaning 'devil.' The new editions of INCARNADINE are a way of speaking to that.”
* DRACULA IN LOVE by Karen Essex.
- Bram Stoker's DRACULA from Mina's point of view as a sexy romance.

* The Vampire Diaries is back with Season 2 and has been excellent so far! (SPOILER ALERT!)
* True Blood becoming a movie?
- “Details are sparse but their sources say they hope to get True Blood: The Movie up and running “sooner rather than later” and that series creator Alan Ball may be determined to direct it himself.”
* This leads to the which is better: TV or Movie adaptations of books?
// MOVIES
* Buried alive with “Buried”
- At Fantastic Fest 2010 (Sept 23-30) in Austin, TX, the Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Roadshow had a very claustrophobic premiere. Four viewers were blindfolded and buried alive in special coffins fitted with small screens in their lids. They were then allowed to take off their blindfolds and watched a screening of “Buried”, starring Ryan Reynolds. Even better, after the movie, and release from their macabre theaters, they met Ryan Reynolds. For the rest of us, “Buried” premieres on October 8th.
* 30 Days of Night: Dark Days direct to DVD and Blu-Ray October 5th
- Watch the Red band trailer.
// FACEBOOK SHOUT OUTS
* Gail wrote: “Hi back! This time I was lying on my bed with a head cold I caught from an evil plague-ridden child on the plane back from Australia. But I still said 'hi.' It's practically impossible not to.”
